British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, talking about his visit to India later this week, underscored the need for democratic countries to "stick together."

In an apparent dig at Russia, the prime minister said the "prosperity and peace" of democracies is threatened by "autocratic states." "India, as a major economic power and world's largest democracy, is a highly valued strategic partner for the UK in these uncertain times," said Johnson.

Over the weekend, Russia imposed an entry ban on the British prime minister and 12 other UK cabinet ministers over London's stance on Moscow's military operation in Ukraine.
