Judge finds Donald Trump liable for fraud in NY lawsuit

Judge Arthur Engoron ruled Tuesday that former President Donald Trump and his company are liable for committing fraud for years. The civil suit was filed by the New York attorney general.

The judge determined that the ex-president and his company misled banks, insurers, and other entities by overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth in the documentation used to make deals and secure financing. Trump would have inflated his true net worth by billions of dollars.

Finally, as part of that ruling, the judge also annulled the commercial certificates of Trump and the other defendants.
