The founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, was arrested on Thursday by the British police after Ecuador refused to prolong his asylum.
Wikileaks tweeted that the arrest took place within the diplomatic mission after the Latin American country "illegally terminated Assange political asylum in violation of international law." Wikileaks founder obtained asylum from Ecuador in 2012 after Swedish authorities issued an arrest warrant for him for alleged sexual misconduct and sought his extradition from the UK. He is also sought by the United States for publishing classified government information on his platform.
Last week, Ecuador denied it was planning to expel Assange from their London property.
