The fiancee of slain Saudi journalist and dissident Jamal Khashoggi, Hatice Cengiz (pictured), called on Monday for the punishment of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman following a US intelligence report that said the heir to the kingdom's throne approved the murder.
"It is essential that the Crown Prince, who ordered the brutal murder of a blameless and innocent person, should be punished without delay," Cengiz said in a statement, adding that enforcing repercussions for Mohammed bin Salman's role in Khashoggi's death could prevent any similar incidents in the future.
Last week, an intelligence report published by the Biden administration found that the Saudi Crown Prince approved the operation which led to Khashoggi's murder in 2018.
