White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby told the reporters on Friday that Washington is willing to offer F-16 training to Ukrainian pilots in the United States if European allies lack the required "capacity" for such training.
"We're eager to move forwrad with providing Kiev with the long term capability," Kirby underscored.
Namely, The Washington Post wrote citing senior Ukrainian government and military officials that the first group of Ukrainian pilots is unlikely to complete training on the American fighter jets before next summer. In June, Lockheed Martin, however, announced readiness to train Ukrainian pilots.
