Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty told reporters on Monday that representatives from the Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas have convened in Cairo to agree on how the Palestinian Authority will govern the Gaza Strip following the conclusion of the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
"There are indeed two delegations from the Fatah and Hamas movements in Cairo consulting and deliberating to quickly reach a mutual understanding regarding the management of daily affairs in the Gaza Strip under the full control of the Palestinian Authority," Abdelatty added.
Israel has expressed its refusal to allow Hamas any involvement in Gaza's governance after the conflict concludes.
