US jobless claims down 3,000 to 192,000

Initial jobless claims in the United States for the week ending February 18 decreased by 3,000 compared to the previous week's revised figure to land at 192,000, the US Department of Labor reported on Thursday. The four-week moving average stood at 191,250, up 1,500 compared to the prior week's revised average.

The seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate for the week ending February 11 was 1.1%, down 0.1 percentage points in comparison to unrevised numbers from the prior week. The seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the same week was 1,654,000, falling 37,000 from the previous week's revised figure. The four-week moving average stood at 1,668,750, decreasing by 3,000 compared to the previous week's revised average.
