Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Thursday that communication between Russian President Vladimir Putin and United States President-elect Donald Trump before he officially assumes office in January is "not excluded."

"He [Trump] did say that he would call Putin before the inauguration. That is his word, we have nothing else to say for now," Peskov told reporters. Meanwhile, the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that no telephone conversation is expected between Putin and outgoing US President Joe Biden.

According to Peskov, the Russian president may address questions regarding the outcome of the US presidential elections during his participation in the Valdai Forum discussion, which is scheduled to take place later today.
