Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov accused the United States on Monday of being "de facto deeply involved" in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Peskov insisted that such engagement could henceforth be interpreted as the US being at war with Russia.
Peskov's comments came after US President Joe Biden, while urging Congress to pass a bill that would allocate additional aid for Ukraine, described his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin as a "thug." Russia's Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov then accused Washington of trying to "bury bilateral relations" with Moscow.
