Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday expressed confidence in his victory in the upcoming presidential elections, noting that he expects to secure the win in the first round.

Erdogan emphasized his determination to do "whatever it takes" to accomplish this goal and called on voters to head to the polls on Sunday. He framed the upcoming vote as an opportunity for the voters to express their opinion on United States President Joe Biden, as the US head of state had backed Erdogan's opponent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the past.

To win on Sunday and avoid going to the second round, Erdogan will have to receive over 50% of the votes.
