The Lebanese caretaker government issued a statement condemning all violence and attacks against civilians and calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities on the common border with Israel after a deadly strike on Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.
"The Lebanese Government condemns all acts of violence and aggression against all civilians and calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts. Targeting civilians is a flagrant violation of international law and against principles of humanity," the executive said.
On the other side, Israel's National Unity Party leader Benny Gantz said the attack was a "serious incident" and held Hezbollah and the Lebanese government responsible for the strike. "This incident cannot pass without a significant response," he stated.
