Lebanese media report strong explosion in Beirut

Local Lebanese media reported on Tuesday a massive explosion that shook the streets of the Dahyeh district in southern Beirut. The site of the event is a known Hezbollah stronghold, which could indicate military action against the group.

Several local media have echoed the news, adding that it could be a possible Israeli air strike or drone attack.

Although the authorities have not yet officially reported the causes of the incident, if the Israeli origin is proven, it would be the first attack of this type in Beirut since the 2006 war, which would mean a significant escalation of regional tensions.
