Libya's oil production has dropped below 600,000 barrels per day from its previous output of 1.2 million barrels per day. Local media stated that the country's oil production has decreased by at least 400,000 barrels per day since the suspension order was issued.

The country's eastern government recently declared "force majeure" on all oil fields due to political conflict, which has raised concerns about a possible shutdown. Oil accounts for more than 60% of Libya's GDP.
