Voters in the Lugansk People's Republic supported joining Russia in the referendum held since September 23, local election officials said on Tuesday after processing all ballots. Over 98% of people in the region reportedly voted for the accession to the Russian Federation.

Meanwhile, the Donetsk People's Republic also counted 100% of the ballots and reported that 99.23% of them were in favor of uniting with Russia. Earlier, similarly dominant majorities of residents of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions voted in the same way.

"The referenda are over. The results are obvious. Welcome home to Russia!" Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev wrote on Telegram.
