French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Monday that including the delivery of fighter jets in the aid package for Ukraine remains a possibility.

Answering a question on chances for Paris to supply fighter planes to Kiev, Macron remarked that "in principle, nothing is forbidden." Still, the president went on to say that any measures taken must not be "escalatory" and that they should be made with care to avoid weakening the French army.

Macron was speaking at a press conference in the Hague during his visit to the Netherlands ahead of the European Union energy summit. The French president promised the delivery of light combat tanks to Ukraine earlier this month.
