French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Tuesday that the G7 must coordinate the efforts to tackle the challenge of inflation.

During a press conference following the conclusion of the Group of Seven (G7) summit, the French president stressed the importance of the group's efforts not only on economic issues but also on the military operation in Ukraine and its global implications.

Macron added that the alliance needs "to find a common response" for the critical issue of energy. The latter is "an asymmetrical shock because some countries depend more on Russian gas than others." Moreover, the goal is also to find alternatives to Russian gas, such as nuclear and renewable energies.
