The indictment against former United States President Donald Trump remains under seal, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's (pictured) spokesperson told US media.

"This evening we contacted Mr. Trump's attorney to coordinate his surrender to the Manhattan DA's Office for arraignment on a Supreme Court indictment... Guidance will be provided when the arraignment date is selected," the spokesperson added.

Trump will surrender to the authorities in New York early next week, his attorney Joe Tacopina confirmed in a statement to NBC News. The case illustrates "political persecution" and "election interference," according to the Republican politician.
