China is ready to collaborate with the European Union in order to find a solution "acceptable for both sides" after the EU decided to impose tariffs on electric vehicles imported from the Asian country, Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson said in a statement.
"The electric vehicle anti-subsidy case is complex and has wide-ranging implications. It is a challenge for China and the EU to reach an agreement through consultations. However, China believes that as long as the EU shows sincerity and moves to the other side, the concerns of both sides can be resolved through consultations," the spokesperson stressed.
Furthermore, the official revealed that Vice Commerce Minister Li Fei met with European Commission's Director-General for Trade Sabine Weyand in Brussels on Monday and voiced China's willingness to "to properly resolve China-EU economic and trade" issues.
