The report that claimed United States President Donald Trump told his staffers numerous times that the World Trade Organization is against the interests of the United States is not correct and "an exaggeration," said Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin in an interview on Friday. He added that the president would not do anything that would hinder the strong economic growth that the US economy is experiencing, and that includes trade policy.
The Secretary is expecting strong economic growth in the second quarter, mostly propelled by "tax cuts and regulatory relief" that are just now making an impact. "The Atlanta Fed is projecting 4.7% [growth]. Whether we hit that or not, this is an enormous quarter," he told Fox Business channel.
