Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday that peace was "of utmost importance" and that "war cannot solve problems."
During a press conference, the Indian leader stated that the death of innocent children is very painful, referring to the previous day's attack in Kiev that hit a children's hospital, leaving several dead and wounded. On the other hand, Modi also declared that both sides discussed Ukraine, stressing that his country is ready to play an important role in the peace.
In other developments, minutes before and in the same press conference, the Russian President invited Modi to the BRICS summit in Kazan from October 22 to 24.
