Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit to Ukraine in August, WION news channel reported on Friday, citing Indian diplomatic sources.

According to the report, the visit is expected to take place in the third week of August, most likely on August 23. If it goes ahead, this would be Modi's first visit to Kiev since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.

Earlier this year, Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone call to discuss the Ukrainian peace formula. The two officials also met on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy in June.
