Billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk, who has been in charge of leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under United States President Donald Trump, revealed on Wednesday that he has been getting "a lot of death threats" and "a lot of flak" over the work he has been doing.

Nonetheless, during Trump's first Cabinet meeting, he insisted that DOGE's work is "not an optional thing [but] an essential thing." He reiterated that if the spending isn't cut, the US will go bankrupt.

Musk said that he is confident $1 trillion can be saved if his proposals are followed, adding that the US government needs to act "quickly." He further commented that he wants to keep all the "essential" workers who are doing their jobs "well."
