Billionaire Elon Musk took to Twitter on Thursday to declare that a new chief executive officer has been elected for the platform and its parent, X Corp.
"Excited to announce that I’ve a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!," Musk wrote, without disclosing the name of the individual. He specified that he will go on to serve as the executive chair and chief technology officer, continuing to oversee "product, software & sysops."
Musk first shared plans to resign as Twitter's CEO in December, when he stated he needed to find someone "foolish enough to take the job."
