Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk shared on Monday that the company plans to have "genuinely useful humanoid robots" in low production for internal use by 2025, with the goal of high production for other companies by 2026.
The billionaire previously projected that the humanoid robot Optimus, which is still in development, could be manufactured up to 30 billion units to meet the demand for technology that could function as "companions, babysitters, and teachers."
Musk presented Tesla's second-generation Optimus robot during the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai earlier this month.
