N. Korea to pursue further nuclear tests, ambassador says

North Korea will continue to conduct its ballistic missile and nuclear tests despite a potential military response from the United States, the country’s ambassador to the United Kingdom told sky News on Tuesday.

“We are developing our nuclear strength to respond to that kind of attack by the US,” ambassador Choe II stressed during the interview and added that if attacked, Pyongyang will reciprocate, although he doubts America is considering action against North Korea. He denied as well that his country’s nuclear program is taking a toll on its citizens lives.

“If the US move an inch, then we are ready to turn to ashes any available strategic assets of the US,” he reiterated once more, highlighting that North Korea’s nuclear program is in fact the result of “US hostile policy against us” in the past 60 years. “We need nuclear power to defend ourselves,” to protect the Korean peninsula and the region, the diplomat went on, concluding it is “our sovereign right” to maintain a nuclear program.
