North Korean hackers targeted at least six companies from the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea that have been involved in developing a coronavirus vaccine, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday citing sources familiar with the matter.
US-based firms Johnson & Johnson and Novavax Inc. were allegedly under cyberattack, as well as British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and South Korean firms Genexine Inc., Shin Poong Pharmaceutical Co. and Celltrion Inc.
The Pyongyang-backed hacking operation started in August and it's still unclear whether it resulted in stealing useful and valuable information, the report said.
