Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on yesterday's resignation of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, welcoming the official's decision to leave the post. He also stressed that he will not allow Tehran to resume its nuclear program for as long as he holds his position.
On his official Twitter account, Netanyahu wrote: "Good riddance. As long as I'm here, Iran won't have a nuclear weapon."
Meanwhile, Zarif urged for unity in Iran's foreign policy, stressing that his decision to quit as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran was "a nudge" to return it "to its rightful place." In the meantime, most Iranian lawmakers signed a letter calling on President Hassan Rouhani to refuse Foreign Minister Javad Zarif's resignation. Zarif announced he is stepping down as Iran's head of diplomacy on Monday.
