Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that the tide may be turning in the conflict with Hamas, alleging that numerous fighters from the militant group have surrendered to Israeli forces.
"This marks the beginning of the end of Hamas," Netanyahu wrote in a statement released on Sunday. Netanyahu went on to call on Hamas fighters to lay down their arms.
Despite the prime minister's assertion, Hamas has refuted such claims in the past.
