Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized on Monday that Syria must not serve as a launching base for Turkish attacks against Israel.

"We don't want to see Syria be used by anyone, including Turkey, as a base to attack Israel," Netanyahu stated during an Oval Office press conference with US President Donald Trump.

"We discussed how we can avoid this conflict and Trump could be a mediator on this issue," Netanyahu added, seemingly referring to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan amid the worsening of the Israel-Turkey ties regarding Syria.
