OpenAI Inc. CEO Sam Altman revealed in a post on X on Tuesday that users should expect a delay in the rollout of new OpenAI features after the popular AI platform experienced technical issues after the launch of its newest image generation feature.
"We are getting things under control, but you should expect new releases from OpenAI to be delayed, stuff to break, and for service to sometimes be slow as we deal with capacity challenges," he said. Earlier, Altman said the extremely high demand for the new feature was "melting" the company's graphic processing units (GPUs). The new image generator has also become available for users using a free subscription plan.
Meanwhile, ChatGPT reached a new milestone today, hitting 20 million paid subscribers.
