The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said on Friday that there has been no release of radioactive material at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and that "the safety systems of the six reactors at the plant were not affected at all" during last night's attacks.
However, Grossi insisted that the situation "naturally continues to be extremely tense and challenging because of the circumstances." He offered to travel to Chernobyl and negotiate a framework to guarantee the safety of nuclear power plants as hostilities continue.
