'No sign of life' at crash site of Raisi's helicopter

"No sign of life" was detected at the crash site of the helicopter carrying Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, AFP reported on Monday, citing the country's state television.

Additionally, the Iranian semi-official news agency Mehr News reported that "no survivors" have been found at the site in the mountainous northwest region of the country where the crash occurred. According to footage of the crash posted by IRNA on X, formerly Twitter, the helicopter appears to have been almost completely destroyed, with only its tail end remaining recognizable.

Besides Raisi, the helicopter was carrying Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Governor of the Eastern Azerbaijan province Malek Rahmati, Tabriz’s Friday prayer Imam Mohammad Ali Alehashem as well as a pilot, copilot, crew chief, head of security and another bodyguard, according to CNN.
