North Korea carried out the third launch of its military reconnaissance satellite, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said on Tuesday. The launch comes one day earlier than the date provided by Pyongyang to Japan and follows two failed attempts in May and August this year.
The JCS said the satellite was propelled "southward" without providing details on the mission's success. Earlier today, South Korea warned it could suspend the accord signed with North Korea in 2018 if it determines that the two sides have reached a "critical security situation."
