Norwegian ship hit by 'unidentified object' in Red Sea

Norwegian Inventor Chemical Tankers' ship carrying biofuel was struck with an "unidentified object" in the Red Sea, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The firm said that the vessel's owner was wrongfully identified as "Israel affiliated company" by the information provider Marine Traffic, claiming that this was probably the reason for the attack. "There is no Israeli link in the ownership (Norwegian), technical management (Singapore) of the vessel nor in any parts of the logistical chain for the cargo transported," the company stated, adding that all members of the crew are well.

The attack came after Yemen's Houthi announced their intention to target any ship owned or operated by Israeli companies.
