Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Thursday the price of Brent could go over $80 per barrel this year.
"I hope that the demand will still grow in summer," Novak told Izvestia in an interview, arguing that the consumption of the commodity is expected to increase during the warmer months due to a rise in use of transportation and air traffic.
Additionally, Novak emphasized that he does not anticipate any significant modifications to the agreement during the OPEC+ meeting in June, underscoring that the group would continue to put its emphasis on achieving market equilibrium between supply and demand.
