ChatGPT maker OpenAI on Thursday launched a test version of its own search engine, named SearchGPT, to a small group of users and publishers in order to get feedback and improve the new tool.
The new search features are "designed to combine the strength of our AI models with information from the web to give you fast and timely answers with clear and relevant sources," the company said in a statement. "Importantly, SearchGPT is about search and is separate from training OpenAI’s generative AI foundation models. Sites can be surfaced in search results even if they opt out of generative AI training," OpenAI added.
The company underlined that "the best" of new features will be integrated into its chatbot ChatGPT in the future.
