OpenAI is preparing to launch "Operator," a new feature for ChatGPT that automates tasks like restaurant reservations and travel planning directly from the chatbot, The Information reported on Wednesday citing people familiar with the plans.
Scheduled for release this week, Operator integrates a browser-like interface into ChatGPT, allowing users to initiate tasks in categories such as dining, shopping, and events. According to the report, the feature enables real-time interaction, with users able to adjust parameters, such as reservation details, while the Operator executes actions.
It also supports session continuity, keeping users logged into websites between sessions. Although Operator currently excludes Gmail integration, it supports other web platforms. Users can save and share completed tasks for future use.
