PayPal Holdings Inc. announced on Tuesday, in a statement, that its users will now be able to transfer cryptocurrencies on its payment platform. The cryptocurrencies included are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin.
Senior Vice President Jose Fernandez da Ponte noted that "allowing PayPal customers the flexibility to move their crypto assets into, outside of, and within our PayPal platform reflects the continuing evolution of our best-in-class platform and enables customers to interact with the broader crypto ecosystem."
PayPal further added that the company has been given the "full Bitlicense by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS)," which made them the first company "to convert a conditional Bitlicense into a full Bitlicense."
