House Democrats, worried about President Joe Biden's performance in the 2024 presidential race, are turning to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for intervention, Axios reported on Thursday.
According to the news media outlet, Pelosi is respected for her political acumen and toughness and is seen as the ideal figure to address Biden directly. The development comes as more voices add to the concerns, with nine representatives and one senator now calling on the current White House chief to withdraw from the presidential bid.
Earlier, Pelosi commented on Morning Joe, "It's up to the president to decide if he is going to run." Still, she also added, "We're all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short."
