Peskov: Moscow monitors strengthening of ruble

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday the government is monitoring the strengthening of the ruble stressing that macroeconomic stability is Moscow's primary concern.

During the press conference, Peskov revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin holds weekly meetings to address the country's economic issues, adding that "strengthening the ruble against the dollar" is a constant topic of discussion.

Previously, the Kremlin spokesman explained that the Cabinet of Ministers and the Central Bank are working effectively to stabilize the economy. On May 26, the Bank of Russia will hold a meeting to discuss its main interest rate.
