The Philippine government said on Monday that two of the country's coast guard ships suffered damage in collisions with vessels belonging to China's Coast Guard (CCG) in the South China Sea, AFP reported.
The two countries traded blame for the incident that occurred on Monday, with Manila stating that the Chinese ships carried out "unlawful and aggressive maneuvers."
Meanwhile, Beijing said that two Phillippine Coast Guard vessels "illegally intruded" into waters near the Sabina Shoal, ignoring repeated warnings with one of the ships "deliberately" causing a collision.
