Poland hit by missiles shot down by Kiev - report

The explosion that reportedly rocked a Polish village near the Ukraine border was caused by remains of missiles that the Ukrainian military had previously shot down, Polish radio ZET reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed local officials.

Meanwhile, an anonymous United States official told The Associated Press that the missiles were fired by the Russian armed forces.

Poland is convening an emergency meeting of its defense leadership in light of reports about an explosion in the village of Przewodow.
