Polish President Andrzej Duda announced on Thursday his country will send four MiG-29s to Ukraine, becoming the first NATO ally to deliver fighter jets to Kiev.
"Firstly, literally within the next few days, we will hand over, as far as I remember, four aircraft to Ukraine in full working order," Duda said at a press conference. "The rest are being prepared, serviced," he added.
Ukraine has consistently been begging for fighter jets to help its forces in the war against Russia, but most allies insisted it is not the time for them to deliver such assistance to Kiev, at least for now.
