Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said on Tuesday that he requested "urgent explanations" from Israeli Ambassador Yacov Livne after the death of a Polish aid worker in Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out an airstrike that killed seven people working for the World Central Kitchen charity supplying food to Palestinians, including a Polish, Australian, and British national.
Sikorski said Livne assured him Poland will "soon receive the results of the investigation into this tragedy." Earlier, the Polish Foreign Ministry said Poland "does not agree to the lack of compliance with international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians, including humanitarian workers" and that the government will start its own investigation into the matter.
