In Egypt, polling stations opened for a presidential election on Sunday.

With some 67 million people in the country eligible to vote, the voting period extends until Tuesday, and the results are slated for announcement on December 18.

The presidential election is widely anticipated to result in the re-election of the incumbent leader, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi.
