The British pound sterling reached its two-and-a-half-year high against the American currency on Thursday after the Bank of England's decision to maintain its target interest rate at 5%.
The pound sterling rose 0.68% against the dollar, changing hands for 1.33151 at 1:08 pm CET, its highest level since March 2022. Further, the euro slipped 0.22% against the pound to sell at 0.83975.
