Russian President Vladimir Putin insisted on Wednesday that the agreement his country signed with North Korea will ensure the two parties will help each other in case one of them faces aggression.
Speaking to the press after the meeting with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang, Putin stressed that he does not rule out the possibility of the two countries forging a military-technical cooperation.
Furthermore, Putin praised North Korea's views of Russia's military operation in Ukraine, noting that the Far Eastern country "take[s] an objective and balanced position" as "they understand the true initial causes of the crisis," which underlines Pyongyang's "truly independent, sovereign course."
