Putin reaffirms gas supply to Austria - Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin underlined Moscow's willingness to uphold its contractual obligations of natural gas supply to Vienna, the Kremlin press service reported on Friday.

According to the Kremlin press service, the president emphasized that Ukrainian authorities obstruct the talks between Moscow and Kiev, in a telephone conversation with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer. In addition to his, Putin explained that Moscow is not responsible for the global food crisis, calling the attempts to shift the blame on Russia "groundless."

The Russian President also pointed out that Kiev should clear the ports as soon as possible to allow for the free transit of stranded ships, the Kremlin noted in a statement.
