The Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday that the negotiations for the extension of the humanitarian pause between Israel and Hamas continue despite the renewed fighting between the parties since this morning.
"Qatar is committed, along with its mediation partners to continue the efforts that lead to the humanitarian truce, and we will not hesitate to do everything necessary to return to calm," the ministry said in the statement. Qatar also expressed "deep regret" at the resumption of Israel's aggression on the Gaza Strip, and condemned the practice of "collective punishment."
At least 21 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip today, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
