Rubio dismisses Maduro's victory, calls the election a 'sham'

United States Republican Senator from Florida Marco Rubio quickly took to X after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro won his third six-year term as president, to call the election a "sham."

"The Maduro regime in Venezuela has just carried out the most predictable and ridiculous sham election in modern history," Rubio wrote.

The state of Florida has the largest Venezuelan presence in the US.

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez (pictured) said that the United States revoked licenses for several transnational oil and gas companies operating in the country, AFP reported.
